PEPLUM

SPRING-SUMMER 2148

LOOKBOOK

From the Amélie Nothomb novel Peplum,
in a distopic world, the North has removed the South, probably because of mass migrations. *

They said that in the south, there was nothing left. They don’t really explain, we don’t know a lot about it in the book but in fact, we never really look behind what they say. And yet, where there is nothing, we will always see something. My collection represent a post-apocalyptic community based somewhere in the south, where there is “nothing left”. This people are plit in two castes : the aristocracy and the damned. It’s the reflet of the circle in which humanity seems stuck : the system of hierarchy which justifies exploitation.

This civilization is not influenced by the conditionings from the past but it was created itself on the ruins of our consumer society.

The goal is to question the part of fashion in a world that is collapsing.

* +3°c of global warming = +3,5 billion of people on the roads.
